The Skin Clinic at Modern Medical St Kilda Road provides comprehensive skin checks and minor surgical procedures. We offer full body skin checks, or an assessment of a single mole. Our doctors are Fellows of the Royal Australian College of General Practice with extensive experience and extra post-graduate training in skin cancer surveillance and monitoring.
Things to know for your skin clinic consultation:
The average assessment consultation takes about 15 to 30 minutes
For a full body skin check, our doctors take maximum care to ensure your privacy and to protect your modesty
The process begins with a thorough examination of the skin using a microscopy technique known as dermoscopy where the suspicious lesions are identified
If a suspicious lesion is identified, our doctors are able to perform cryotherapy (commonly known as liquid ice), excision biopsies and simple surgical excisions to remove the lesion
In cases where more specialised and advanced level of skill is required, we are able to refer our patients onto our carefully selected network of Dermatologists and Plastic Surgeons
The good news is that 95% of skin cancers can be successfully treated if detected early. Book a skin check appointment to assess your risk and develop an ongoing surveillance program.
