Dr Jim Demirtzoglou has been a general practitioner for over 25 years. Having spent almost all those years working in Dandenong he has a very good grasp of the needs of the very diverse and unique population of Dandenong and the surrounding areas. He is also fluent in the Greek language which also benefits his Greek paitents.
His special interests are in diabetes, heart conditions and children’s health.
Dr Geoff Feben has decades of general practice experience. He enjoys the diversity of general practice and the challenge of keeping up with new developments in clinical practice. He has had 6 years experience in small rural townships. His particular interests include the following:
lifestyle counselling (dietary and weight management, exercise and fitness counselling)- Dr Geoff he likes to believe he practices what he preaches!
electrocardiography, spirometry, dermatoscopy, slit lamp examination and ocular tonometry, and screening audiometry
minor procedures (including minor surgery/excisions, selective soft tissue and joint injections and disposable rigid sigmoidoscopy)
psychological and motivation counselling (including drug, alcohol and smoking counselling) and mental health
employment and SCUBA medicals
His philosophy in general practice is preventive medicine at all costs thereby reducing more advanced problems requiring specialist attention, and ultimately aspiring for a longer, healthier existence on this planet!
Dr Anita Elias has worked as a General Practitioner for a number of years. Prior to this, she worked in the hospital system. Her interests are children’s and women’s health with specialized focus on families. Anita enjoys working in Dandenong with the large diversity and multi-cultured community.
She is fluent in Hindi and Urdu but can also understand Telugu and Tamil to a fair extent.

Dr Rekha Kumar has a wealth of experience in all areas of medicine. Rekha's extensive experience is not only in general practice but also in Psychiatry and Skin & Cosmetic medicine. She has worked in the Australian Navy as well as in various hospitals in Melbourne. Whilst she has established and owned several medical clinics, she joined Modern Medical Dandenong in 2011 to bring back work life balance.
Rekha is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She has supervised and trained many GP registrars. Her special interests are in cosmetic injectables, dermatology, skin cancer, minor procedures, women’s health, weight loss and paediatrics. Rekha performs Implanon and Mirena contraceptive insertion and removal. She enjoys keeping up to date and attending educational seminars.
Dr Rekha loves her job and provides general practice care using a modern medicine approach to families and to help patients to stay well. She is vegan and believes in nutritional medicine. She speaks fluent Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu.
Dr Shafia Nasirin is a general practitioner with over 13 years experience in both general practice as well as working in hospitals. She completed her training in Adelaide. Her interest includes young families, child and women’s health.
In her free time Shafia tries to stay fit and enjoys gardening. She has a busy life as a mother of two young boys. She migrated to Australia from Bangladesh in 2002. She can fluently speak Bengali.
