Health Matters
At Modern Medical, we want our patients to stay well and live well. Our new patient wellness program, Health Matters, is designed to help you and your family achieve their best health this and every year. If you haven’t yet taken the opportunity to book in for a health assessment, call us today and we’ll help you get on the right path to living and staying well.
Regular health assessments help keep you fit and well!
A health assessment with your GP is a great way to spot potential health issues early and to keep on top of any medical issues before they start to cause you problems. Together, we can assess your risk of long-term health issues and rule out any physical signs, such as high blood pressure. We can also order bloods or other tests to see how your cholesterol and sugar levels are tracking.
Once you’ve had your health assessment, you’ll understand how well your health is stacking up and what areas you may need to work on. You and your GP can agree specific health goals and develop a plan to achieve these goals in 2019.
It’s a great place to start your journey towards better health!

Chronic Health Management
Our greatest value is in providing comprehensive chronic health management. The more our doctors and nurses can work with you to prevent health complications, the healthier life you can live.
Our team This includes diagnosis, education, preventative and advice on many chronic diseases. Examples are: diabetes, asthma, mental health.
Throughout the year, the clinics will promote a health issue to help raise awareness. If we feel that you are eligible or would benefit from specific treatments, we will invite you to book an appointment. These health issues range from health assessments, flu shots and vaccinations.
Skin Checks
Early detection of melanoma and other skin cancers increases your chance of avoiding surgery—or worse. In 2015, there were more than 2000 deaths from melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer in Australia. 2 in 3 Australians are diagnosed with skin cancer by the time they are 70 years old.
Checking your skin regularly for signs of skin cancer is a vital step in early detection. Get the guide on how to conduct a self skin check: How self-skin checks could help save your life

Iron infusions
Healthy levels of iron are critical for muscle strength, energy and good mental function. Iron helps make haemoglobin—the part of our red blood cells that carries oxygen around our body. If your body does not make enough haemoglobin, then this might explain why you feel tired or why you’re not able to do normal daily activities.
Aged Care Health Assessments and Home Visits
